Ketman777: I think it's interesting that, if translitered into the Hebrew, the word for the "house" being built is "hiekal hakoddesh"

Ketman777: It was used in Hebrew literature for the actual, literal temple in Jerusalem...which, at that time, was still standing. Consider the consequence of that statement there...

Ketman777: I think it's important to remember that Paul was a Pharissee and a rabbi - even as an Apostle....
Ketman777: the Jewish understanding here (and I'm not saying that it's the Gospel truth, exactly), is that one should not presume to be "chacham" - a term that is used of the greatest teachers
Ketman777: I think this lines up nicely with James, which says that "not many of you should presume to be teachers (chachamaim) my brothers..."

Ketman777: Our assumptions, background, bias, etc. are all important when interpreting Scripture. It is humanly impossible to read without them. What is important is to know what they are and let the Scripture speak about them...
